Ya instead of a tyranny of majority we get a tyranny of a minority. Why not hold elections where trees get 3/5 of a vote also?

I see the problem now AK, MT, WY, ND, SD, VT, DE with one one Congressmen will be joining Canada. All those states will be able to have either a common land border with Canada or in Delaware's case an ocean with which they could reach Canada in motorized row boats.

@dmannevada5981 I thought Washington wanted to make Cuba the 51st state? I guess Alberta will do in a pinch.

@TAPriceCTR The last time getting rid of the electoral college was talked about is after the 1968 election where three candidates got electoral votes. If no one gets an absolute majority than each state through decisions made by its congressional representatives gets one vote.

@dmannevada5981 Clinton did what Reagan couldn't replace AFDC with TANF. Bush told everyone he wanted Medicare Part D to pass. Carter was the first advocate of trickle down economics. Reagan signed the first immigration amnesty bill. It makes absolutely no difference which party is in power you are going to pay more taxes than Amazon and GE. The biggest thing that goes on with "entitlements' is rearrangement in how they are dished out and rearrangements in how things are paid for.

@TAPriceCTR "What does "the last time" something happened got to do with anything?" Typical political amnesia. Third parties always develop during political crisis in the US. Clinton Democrats accused the Green party of stealing her votes. The Republican's being out of the White House last time had ten candidates for the nomination. The Democrats have ten now and more are talking about entering even as some drop out. I'd call that a crisis for the ruling parties unless I was a political amnesiac wearing blinders. If a third party were to develop quicker in one or more states faster than the others it could very well though a Presidential election into the House of Representatives where each state would have one vote.

@TAPriceCTR No. I just explained something that has made you upset. I support a third party the Socialist Workers Party. I oppose the duopoly. I don't see how "abolishing parties" would create any real change except to make third parties challenging capitalist power illegal. There is a difference between abolishing parties and nonpartisan elections with equal ballot access.

@TAPriceCTR You seem to quick to jump to conclusions. I associate that with getting upset.

@jeromeschmidt7805 "Ideological enforcement" otherwise known as capitalist law is carried out by the two parties at all levels and branches of the capitalist state power local, state, federal, legislative, executive and judicial. The whole purpose of Bourgeois Democracy is to enforce Bourgeois Dictatorship.
