@itsv1p3r The President and Vice President must be natural born citizens but they do not need to be residents of a state rather only 14 years a resident within the United States. So a President could be a resident of DC or any overseas US territory and not be able to vote in any particular state.

@donkraemer50 Nothing would prevent one of them from becoming a resident of convenience like Dick Chaney who had a hunting cabin in Wyoming. Originally He and Bush claimed Texas residence. Cheny had a Texas drivers license and worked out of an office in Huston. .

@cyberherbalist Nothing would stop any President from claiming DC as his residency.once he moved into the white house just as if he were to change his state of residency. Dick Chaney originally claimed Texas as his residency until a reading of the Constitution reveal a quirk that would lower his possible electoral vote total. Then he became a resident of a hunting cabin in Wyoming instead of Texas.
