They must convince themselves and each other that capital must be producing actual value without labor. Otherwise how could you sell credit default swaps or Bitcoin. According to them value is purely subjective and you can give anything value no matter how ridiculous. This is the end road all the great Bourgeois economist thinkers must travel . To think otherwise is to "cave into" dialectical materialism and capitalism not being a happy meal at the end of the day.

@annpatterson7714 The problem for the bosses is what Karl Marx, Lenin Trotsky and Fidel Castro said is true. They don't like being told that their system can only lead to war and fascism without the working class taking power in a socialist revolution. Despite the hopelessness for the bosses their is no situation that is to hopeless for them. The only question is how many of us will they take to the grave with their system of profits and exploitation.

After All that was exactly the goal Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels had in mind when writing Das Kapital to strip bare the workings of capitalism and capitalist society. To get at the heart of the problems faced by the early classical economists Adam Smith and Ricardo. Afterall the neoliberals like Sowell and Friedman postuale the need for private property for everything but can't show why that didn't or can't happen. Why would a capitalist like Henry Ford call for public road building and not private roads? What causes economic crisis and why do big companies require bailouts? Marx drew a number of conclusions about capitalism none of which in its later stage are very complementary. The concentration of wealth into fewer and fewer hands with a tendency of long term profit rates to decline. That capital was a social force in and of itself.
