@jimc9596 There are no political prisoners in Cuba. America has the biggest number of capitalist gulag prisoners in the world today. The America people pay for the drug war everyday it continues because capitalist politicians can't admit its is a failure without admitting how stupid they are despite their Poison Ivy League educations.

@j.j.freeman9292 Homeless is cause by the profit system. Housing should be a right not used as a way extract value for banks, insurance companies, landlords and other scams to make the ruling rich richer.
3
@debrasrnek4223 No empty homes have investment value. Ask President Trump he has lots of empty condos/apartments in his Trump tower.
2
@johncarapinha5600 I don't usually reply to insults. In your case you seem to be what we call a frantic petti bourgeois. I find it quite amusing that you have yourself worked up in a lather which is probably more than a horse after running the Kentucky Derby.

@saran.4001 Those strikes carried out in the middle of the great depressions were the beginning of a social movement that would organize workers on an industrial bases. These and other battles would push FDR into signing the 1935 National Labor Relations Act, Social Security Act of 1935 and The Fair Labor Standards act of 1938. Millions of workers would pore into the new CIO Unions. The biggest companies in the US like GM and Ford in the US would be forced into signing union contracts with sit down strikes. The unions were a social movement such that they would also take up membership issues with landlords and social workers.
2
@Speedo123100 There is a way forward with class struggle.
2
@jimc9596 Sure I need to listen to privileged Bourgeois Professors of political science, economics, and business who were granted tenured chairs after a period of required political examination to keep out any anti capitalist thinkers.
2
Society is organized to make the rich richer not meet human needs. As long as we have capitalism we will have homelessness because that's the best way to push up the price of housing. No reform can 'fix' capitalism.
2
@yukonfarnsworth1688 Socialism? No what you call socialism is capitalist reformism. You promise reforms that last for a short time until the same problems reappear and more reforms are again made until the problems again appear. We've had both homelessness and luxury for the rich before. It was called the Great Depression. The failure of the New Deal ushered in the Second World War Deal.

@johncarapinha5600 Asked and answered. Minneapolis 1934.
1
@johncarapinha5600 Asked and Answered. Senator Joe McCarthy. Communism is a movement, Move on Mr. Prosecutor.
1
@saran.4001 I picked Minneapolis in 1934 as a sucess because communism is a movement not a country. The working class militants of the Communist League of America successfully fused with trade union militants in local 544 general drivers of the Teamsters Union to lead what would become the citywide Minneapolis General Strike of 1934. Two other citywide general strikes that would take place that year. The San Francisco General Strike lead by the longshoreman and the Communist Party of America. The second was lead by the Akron rubber workers and the American Workers Party. Shortly thereafter the Communist League of America would fuse with the American Workers Party to become the Workers Party of America.

"The only system that takes people out of poverty is capitalism." Sure that appears to be the case in the developed countries but as far as history goes capitalism also gave humanity WW1 and WW2. The most productive system also leading the way to the most destructive system. All their actions are taken based upon profits and rates of profit not doing anybody favors. Nor can you say Belgium capitalism did any good for its rubber plantation slaves in the Belgian Congo.
1
Also just a change in wages paid doesn't necessarily mean you've been lifted out of "poverty". If your an African tribesman outside of the money economy does you children working in mines for rare earth elements mean your on you way out of poverty in into an early grave in the mines.
1
@saran3214 John asked where and when not for an explanation of why. I could give another answer like New York in 1986 and be just as correct. In New York the Socialist Workers Party in Socialist Workers Party v. Attorney General won a Federal court battle that culminated with a permanent injunction closing the FBI's open ended investigation of the Party and paying damages for illegal actions used by the FBI in their covert war on dissent. The suit by the Political Rights Defense Fund forced out the truth about how the FBI spies used Black Bag jobs, informers, snitches, and mission impossible tactics like break ins without badges and guns.
1
@saran3214 The great majority of cars and light trucks sold in North America are made in North America not Korea and Egypt. The workers at GM just finished sucessfully striking GM.
1
@saran3214 Why should I debate someone who changes the facts that they present? First it was Korea and Egypt where cars are made .Now its China, Mexico and Canada and 31 other countries. My 2016 Silverado was assembled in Ft Wayne, Indiana with 50% of parts made in the US. Honda, Toyota and VW also assemble cars here.
1
@saran3214 I don't need to "read a book" on manufacturing having been a worker inside a number of manufacturing plants. They aren't going to move all manufacturing to China for the simple reason that they don't trust the Chinese with all their private property. They've moved out of the big industrial cities into small towns as a way to better control workers and make bigger profits with only one big company in town.
1
@saran3214 A 'tiny' socialist group that manages to get a US Federal Judge (Thomas P. Griesa Praised by the Conservative National Review in an obituary) to hold the Attorney General of The United States in contempt of court doesn't happen every day. Lucky for the US Attorney General the US Federal Marshals were called off by the US Federal Court of Appeals before he could be arrested, hog tied and hauled in chains before the court to face contempt charges. How many other 'tiny' groups of Socialists do you know that can wage General Strikes and provoke a Constitutional crisis. LMAO
1
@johncarapinha5600 "Hey, Kim, why aren't you engaging me in debate anymore???" Because we would have to debate the meaning of debate and other words first. I'm neither willing nor qualified to be your 7th grade English teacher.
1
@saran3214 It I'm not going to play a game where you decide what is or isn't a sucess.
1
@johncarapinha5600 The basic reason for not answering you is that: ,A. A communist country can not exist because its a clear contradiction in terms. No matter how many times N Khrushchev said the Soviet Union had reached communism it never reached, "from each according to his abilities to each according to his needs."
1
@johncarapinha5600 B. If I say socialism is successful in Cuba. Then you will just pariot what is said by US capitalist politicians. Why should I supply another platform for Radio and TV Marti in English or a platform for Voice of America propaganda. You will act like Sara and will claim they aren't successful by the standards you set which prove nothing but your ability to pick the standards to prove they aren't successful.
1
@johncarapinha5600 Your unhappy with the message so he obvious messenger was no good nor am I not playing a TV game show where you get to ask for a final answer.
1
@johncarapinha5600 The "final answer" is that the class struggle will not end without a final victory.
1
@simpleman4059 What the homeless ought to do is create sanctuary suburbs.
1
@jimc9596 No you are the one suffering from naivety. Trump will not make a blanket charge of political prisoners because they still remember Carter's political disaster called the mariel boatlift. He won't claim individually named prisoners because they don't want common criminals claiming political status that they will have to jail or deport latter.
1
@jimc9596 People such as yourself don't see anything wrong with Washington's policies of blockade and regime change. You think of your government as the best in the world who can do no wrong and when a whole people object they must have guns pointed at their backs. After all who could object to a freshly made McDonald's hamburger and bottle of Coca Cola.
1
@simpleman4059 The system is in crisis and the only solution that both parties have is to make us pay for their bankrupt and rotten profit system.
1
@debrasrnek4223 Its just capitalism working the its should. Creating luxury out of poverty.
1
@royallanjeffries6307 The way forward is with a fighting union movement.
1
@simpleman4059 We are slaves to capitalism and a capitalist class. The Federal Reserve is just one part of the profit system.
1
@johncarapinha5600 Really? It's seems to you want to prove how strong the US Empire is and that it has defeated communism. The problem with that theory is if we were defeated you wouldn't want to debate me.
1
Guns N Glory What Blood? You're the one who choose the name "Guns N Glory". It seems to me you're the one looking for glory by using gun violence.
1
Guns N Glory I guess you a Canadian or a Brit who thinks his rights come from God. Where's all the tears for the 20,000 lives it cost to get rid of Batista? All the US cared about was a reintegration of Batista's police torture experts. That was the meaning of the Miami Pact which was rejected by the 26st of July movement. All those torture experts received public trials that meet WW2 war crimes standards. You know doubt would like to live next to a former policeman who was an eyegouger or maybe you'd rather have Jon Burge of the Chicago "Midnight Crew."
1
Guns N Glory Obviously if your rights came from god than all you would have needed to win the revolutionary and civil war would be to go to church and say prayers. I guess that's what the teaching in High School today.
1
@simpleman4059 The next question should be who writes their paychecks?
1
@johncarapinha5600 Minneapolis in 1934.
1
@johncarapinha5600 The leaders had the communism as in The Communist League of America. As comrade Dobbs said, "You can have anything your big enough to take."
1
@johncarapinha5600 The "Bulls" gunned down unarmed strikers. The capitalist threw everything they had a the strikers, the cops, the special deputies, an American fascist and the National Guard. When force wouldn't work the tried to cheat the strikers out of victory with FDR's mediators. Yet they still lost. Minneapolis communism put food on the strikers table and gave hope to millions of workers across the country. This also began the Teamsters Central States over the road organizing drive.
1
@geraldpritchard5046 It's not a question of money. It's a question of organization. Society is organized to make profits for a tiny ruling capitalist class not to meet human needs.
1
@geraldpritchard5046 "...there is nothing wrong with Laissez-Faire capitalism..." Nothing wrong with the tooth fairy for extra cash under the pillow either. "Thank capitalism for this YouTube your socialist self enjoys." Should I also "Thank Capitalism" for two world was and 6,185 nuclear weapons held by the US. Should the victims of War in Yemen send you 'Thank You Capitalism' cards?" "Last, nobody is owed somebody else's good or service just because they are born." Ah! So we should end any welfare benefits to children because the capitalists need a better profit rate on bombs for more wars such that you can send out more "Thank You Capitalism" cards to capitalism. Do you want all the "Thank You Capitalism" cards because Ayn Rand approved of selfishness or do you want to share? Shouldn't we address some to John Gault, Dead Letter Box , Anywhere, USA
1
@geraldpritchard5046 Unlike the Social Democrats and Stalinist we see no difference between whatever the capitalists decides to calls himself liberal, conservative, fascist, or anti fascists. The workers need to organize and take big business out of the hands of a tiny profiteering class and run the world on a socialist basis.
1
@geraldpritchard5046 Why should I go along with Ayn Rand and her moral crusade against Social Security when she cashed her old age retirement checks? Che Guevara sets a much better example he was willing to die for his beliefs and did so. Ayn Rand gave in for a few measly retirement checks.
1
@geraldpritchard5046 "I'm more anti-war than you ." You can't be for private property and against war. Violence and the threats of violence are necessary to retain the market relations of capitalist class inequality. The libertarian non aggression principle is one of the most ridiculous statements ever made. Any capitalist abiding by such a principle will be quickly hauled into bankruptcy court where upon the cannibals called major creditors will be let loose by a judge to feast on whatever meat is left on the bones.
1
@abramhepp6379 Because private property is defined in the communist manifesto as property used to exploit others and personal property loses its social character. A bank owning your home with a mortgage contract, rent collected by a landlord owning your home, or a boss owning your workplace are examples of private property. Examples of personal property would be you christmas tree and your TV. A personal computer owned by you is personal property if the same computer is own by you boss for work purposes that its private property.

Tucsoncoyote 2019 They have a rising investment value until another 2008 happens. If you rent an apartment out then that means costs begin accumulating, you have to manage it, do repairs, show it to tenants. You can no doubt use it for a tax write off since its unoccupied or under occupied, maybe you get its tax value underestimated or use it for special purposes as a private hotel room for friends, family or business associates. Homelessness can make landlords money with susubdies. Emphasising government inefficiency helps channelized money into their efficient pockets such that they actually want a failure of government policy. As long as you have capitalism you will have poverty next to unheard of wealth
1
@saran.4001 Plenty of people have been to Cuba and anticommunist blogger Yoani Sanchez has no pictures of people in Havana living in tents like in LA. The people in Cuba aren't part of the US middle classes greatest sucess stories on earth like you and John who brag about America as the best and greatest while the life expectancy continues to decline. You of course are headed to become billionaires like Gates, Soros, and Koch The meritocracy believes their education makes them destined to be the world's rulers. The claim that brilliance is found in capitalism going back to the early ideas of the European enlightenment. This is why Obama and you Sara say you need to read a book. These wise ones believe that they can build more private jails to lock up the systems social problems at a lower cost. The fact is that capitalism in the US is reaching towards all kinds of sustainability problems with no real solution. More wars mean more maimed for life. The prisons and jails are filled with the mentally ill and with non violent drug abusers. The workers are beginning to reject both ruling parties. This is beginning to strike fear into the minds of the rulers and their hangers on.
