@rgmarks1107 If people aren't getting shots it's because they don't trust the government and mandates and insults are not the answer. Not just the US but the world's healthcare system has been strained to the breaking point but the major powers will spend trillions on weapons systems. So its more import for a few wealthy people to fight for bigger protts in commerce while the rest of us suffer.

@sallyhildreth3663 Louisiana is run by Republicans and they are now willing to pay $100 for residents to get their first shot. Its basically become a political football for politicians wanting votes.

@ryanheath77777 Republicans are mad because Koch Industries isn't getting its big profit share. Healthcare is an overhead cost for the bosses they prefer that you die because they can always hire another worker while healthcare costs them money that could be lining their pockets.
2
@rigga4203 Nothing is free. Big Pharma is collecting profits from government payments and Republican bosses consider government money tax money and their money. The rich pay most of the taxes because capitalism works to pay you only enough to come back to work for the next pay period.

@85bbenjaminfan I took the vaccine for the same reason Ron Paul did. I trust the science not the politicians. I've also had the small pox and polio vaccines. Getting any kind of surgery is probably more dangerous including cataract surgery and quarenting yourself will have little to no effect on you survivability. You can't do at home what they can in an hospital ICU. The purpose of any vaccine is to trick the immune system into reacting to a simular type of material creating antibodies that can then attack the virus as if you were previously infected. The people who should worry about vaccines are those with weak immune systems not strong ones. Since it takes time for the antibodies to build up and if your system doesn't create enough you can still be infected.

@85bbenjaminfan If I wanted to worry about man made biologics affecting my health I worry about pollution caused by weed killers used to save money keeping railroad and electric power lines right of ways clear, landfill pollution and the scramble to build electric cars. Powering cars with rechargeable batteries doesn't change the need for energy to manufacture and power the cars.

@yildendelta6761 So you want FDA assurances but are unhappy with the ones they gave you? Okay.

@davidmajor1508 Go take a few items to sell down to the local park and see how long before the "Free Market" police demand ID and shut you down for not having a permit. If we had "free market" medicine you'd have surgeons trained in meat markets and opium would cure all your ills. Free market capitalism was when Paul Revere personally made pots and pans and farmers lived in sod houses. You live in a world market dominated by the Imperialist nations whose profit making companies fight for market share. Capitalist industry is coupled with banking capital which exercises control to assure monopoly prices and profit maximization. The purpose of capitalist government is to arbitrate disputes and assure the rights of the capitalist bosses come first despite which party is in power. Trump switched Parties 5 times and Hillary Clinton was a Republican Goldwater Girl who couldn't pass the DC Bar exam despite graduating from Yale Law.

@joefyda9105 Don't drink the Kool Aid because it was made for a profit.
1
@joefyda9105 Other countries have made vaccines and WHO currently approves 9 different ones. The "Bigger Picture" is almost everything is made for a profit and every year they make new influenza vaccines also. If they held up releasing the vaccine people would complain about foot dragging so someone isn't going to be unhappy especially people who live in the world of conspiracy theories. If you don't want the vaccine don't take it.

@davidmajor1508 The general concept of free market capitalism is the era of handicrafts and local trade so sod houses built out west would reflect that wood was not available locally despite the railroad whereas New England by that time would already have textile mills reflecting industrial capitalism. Capitalism has never developed evenly across the world or with a single country especially a large one like the United States. New York City still has sidewalk fruit vendors along with the World Trade Center, Federal Reserve Bank and Wall Street. Where as most American cities don't have sidewalk fruit vendors or 100 story Financial buildings.

@davidmajor1508 My point is what was called "free market" capitalism is long gone. Besides snickering what's you point history professor?
1
@davidmajor1508 What's free about a market? Do you go shopping and haggle at the store over the price? The capitalist don't want competition when the sell only when they buy and those who have only their labor to sell are paid by the piece or hour. Capitalism works to replace skilled labor with unskilled labor and machines to drive down wages to the minimum wage the laborer needs to sustain himself. The only thing capital does is accumulate and demand a more in return than it started with regardless of success or failure. It becomes more and more parasitic as massive unpayable debt is created. It puts forward the promise to create wealth by investment. The promise of a free lunch with no work required. Go put your money into the gambling casino where the house always wins and the players go home with empty pockets. If it turns out your "smart" card counter they've got the legal (cops) and illegal (mafia) leg breakers for that also.

@davidmajor1508 I tell you what you can explain what a free market is because the goal of every capitalist is profit. The idea that you can have capitalism without corporations or a government is a pipe dream. The whole reason for having corporations and stock markets is to raise investment capital to produce commodities. If capital was able to produce without labor than the laws of thermodynamics would be violated. Tools are created to save future labor time. To build a factory you need capital to build the machines and hire the workers to make the product before you can have any income from sales. The capitalist want everyone to feel a debt of gratitude to them. So they cultivate the idea that they geniuses who are saving mankind from all kinds of horrible fates. They know the workers need a certain income to spend on their needs to come back to work for the next pay period but why pay them a higher wage if you can convince them your letting them borrow against future work as a favor. Convince the workers they can live better in debt and now you have debt slaves who can lose their, credit card and card rating, home and automobile if the go on strike. Same with the national debt its a way for the capitalist to make money on debt instead of paying more taxes. If for any reason they can't find enough buyers for the national debt than the national banks buy the debt and sell it to the Federal Reserve that orders more money from the US Treasure that coins and prints money along with issuing the bonds. A nice little circle with financial interests having control over the currency along with the capitalist government.

@davidmajor1508 Its people like you who go on endlessly about free markets and how markets are making decision and all kinds of other nonsensical attributable to what I figure amounts to nothing more than the right to buy and sell labor and property without limitations. Markets and trade have always been a source of conflict between individuals and groups requiring rules agreements and arbitrators over markets. A real human achievement isn't another market but the ability to make use of the environment without a market. It became so apparent that there was a need for roads to facilitate trade that the are created and paid for by government hiring contractors rather than letting a market for roads to develop. How are we going to solve all the problems with healthcare and education? Relying on more machines built by the financial geniuses? Or should we spend our resources on mass education to drive down the price of labor privilege for Engineers, Doctors, and Scientists who use their education to take economic advantage of others.
1
@davidmajor1508 Your the one who introduced the term "free markets" and insist I don't know what they are yet you yourself have yet to enlighten us your definition. You want to bring in a hackneyed term and bash your opponents for not having the correct definition well then go ahead and give us your definition.

@davidmajor1508 The capitalist are only interested in making industrial profits by replacing skilled labor with machines and unskilled labor. Education and Health care are overhead costs to be minimized on the company books. Afterall the rich can buy all the healthcare, education and educated fools they need. The capitalist use their market position and their government to drive against wages and raise prices. Since in the past money value was tied to gold they had to announce unpopular wage cuts ti keep up declining profit rates. Now they just print more money to devalue the currency which allows prices to be raised and capital value to increase at the expense of the wage earner. The more the workers understand about economics the less the ability the profit makers have in fooling us with demands to cut back for the sake of company profit in times of capitalist crisis.
1
@davidmajor1508 An educated working class is a threat to capitalist power and their ability to exploit us. It's why the educational system has been allowed to decline in the US. The bosses need order takers not thinkers. For the bosses education is best when teachers are paid less while healthcare is placed into the hands of a class of modern day princes called MD's. Billions are spent on war preparations and sales of weapons to some of the most repressive regimes on the planet. Millions languish as contract prison labor for extra profits exceeding the number of prisoners in China or under Stalin in the Soviet Union.

@mikewilliams7218 What does she do lead the ladies gardening club?
1
@mikewilliams7218 I know enough about farming and small business that an adult family member can't take time off to play governor for a few years unless its a big operation. All the farm families in my home town are gone with the exception of the one running a number of other businesses.
