@jan_phd Actually it was John Adams the "Federalist" who used the Unconstitutional alien and sedition acts to shut down Democratic Party newspapers. FDR was the first to use the Smith "gag" Act.

@jan_phd Jefferson and Monroe founded the Democratic-Republican Party in opposition to the Federalists after Washington's Presidency. The Northern merchants and Bankers like Hamilton were Federalists while those opposed to a strong Federal Government were Anti Federalists. The Anti Federalists are responsible for the Bill of Rights because they didn't trust Federalist promises. Jefferson also proposed an Ordnance to the Continental Congress that would have banned slavery in the territories (the future states of TN, AL and MS that failed by one vote that should have been cast by a sick congressman from NJ..

@Blgtn43 People come here because we have a foreign policy that favors dictatorships. We need a working class foreign policy. If the bosses have to pay union wages in foriegn countries than fewer workers will be coming here for a job and if we organize workers without regard to immigration status then we can actually push wages up. Otherwise they are always going to play the game of bring the immigrants in to lower wages and throw them out when a unemployment hits. The government and the border guards like the cops don't work for but against us. The cops can't stop the drug epidemic because this rotten dog eat dog system breeds despair and desperation.
