  109.  @hennagaijin7856  Das Kapital is Marx's effort to explain exactly how capitalism works from what money is to things like the declining rate of return on investment as capital replaces labor in production. To really understand economics you need to understand that its a whole system in motion and different players have different interests. That some one running a small contracting business is just a small player in the realm of what is going on. Any Rand never gets beyond her love for the industrialist. She put him up on a pedestal as a modern god. Same with John Galt an engineer who leads a bosses strike. You realize Ayn Rand received her university education and advanced study in Bolshevik Russia as women were not allowed in the University before the Oct Revolution. Communism is a movement not a new doctrine with its holy priests. Its the history of one classes the proletariat victories and defeats with the.other most important class in the modern world the capitalist class. Since 1917 we've held state power at least somewhere in the world even if not under the best leadership or the most favorable conditions. As you can see the end of the Soviet Union did not create a stable Imperialist world. The working class is bigger as a percentage of the worlds population than at any time in past history and none of the advanced capitalist countries are under the boot of fascism. Both the Social Democrats and the Stalinists labor aristocracy are weaker also. The world's production levels have still not returned to those of 2008.

  110.  @thundertazzy4127  Twenty thousands died to get rid of Batista all the weapons used in the revolution came from the US. Including the tank Fidel rode into Havana on in the caravan of freedom. Are you going to make the US Imperialist pay for all the death they caused by the US armed dictator General Batista or do you just care about the armed criminals and the US collaborators? Go read the declassified State dept documents. 499. Memorandum From the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs (Mallory) to the Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs (Rubottom)1 Washington, April 6, 1960. SUBJECT The Decline and Fall of Castro Salient considerations respecting the life of the present Government of Cuba are: 1. The majority of Cubans support Castro (the lowest estimate I have seen is 50 percent). 2. There is no effective political opposition. 3. Fidel Castro and other members of the Cuban Government espouse or condone communist influence. 4. Communist influence is pervading the Government and the body politic at an amazingly fast rate. 5. Militant opposition to Castro from without Cuba would only serve his and the communist cause. 6. The only foreseeable means of alienating internal support is through disenchantment and disaffection based on economic dissatisfaction and hardship. If the above are accepted or cannot be successfully countered, it follows that every possible means should be undertaken promptly to weaken the economic life of Cuba. If such a policy is adopted, it should be the result of a positive decision which would call forth a line of action which, while as adroit and inconspicuous as possible, makes the greatest inroads in denying money and supplies to Cuba, to decrease monetary and real wages, to bring about hunger, desperation and overthrow of government.

  174.  @stephenlord2200  To make a profit you must sell at a price above the cost of production. You don't sell at the "best price possible." The best price for the seller is not the best price for the buyer. If anything you try and sell at a monopoly price where demand exceeds supply. The labor time per unit is held to a minimum. The labor quality is correct for the commodity produced. The workers production work week hours are the longest. If you can't make a profit your headed for bankruptcy court which is in the constitution. if no one could lend and no one could borrow would we need a bankrupsy court? You say your going to end fractional bank borrowing replacing it with banks doing exchange processing for fees only. If I'm GM with a pile of profits can't I still lend what I have in the bank or from a self bank. If I just keep the profits I and other companies making profits will contract the money supply just as you blame the banks for doing so now. Most of the working class is in some kind of debt now. If the banks or GM and other profit makers can't lend do we rent everything so we can stay out of debt? The advantage to selling and lending money over renting is an owner becomes responsible where as a renter is less likely to be. Since money itself is a universal commodity a lending contract is really just a renting of money contract. If I am bad at fulfilling my money renting contracts my credit score goes down. That's why I say your idea of being able to get rid of debt such that the banks or others can't lend is not possible within the framework of a capitalist system and more like a medieval one were usury was forbidden. If you do allow lending that it must be kept above a black line. If you do that then all your doing is moving where the zero is on a number line of positive and negative numbers.

  333.  @countlessbathory1485  First the "not real socialism" is well documented as the split in the Communist Party of America in 1928 with the Trotsky's supporters forming the Communist League of America. Kotkin is merely a bourgois Professor. Trotsky was co leader of the Revolution with Lenin. Everyone with a brain knows Hitler was anti Marx and anti Bolshevik. Doesn't make a difference what Hitler would rant about he was appointed Chancellor of German by General Hindenburg on adive of von Pipen and all the capitalist deputies voted for the enabling act giving Hitler dicitoral powers. The German bosses wanted Hitler to destroy the trade unions and organize production for the ambitions of Imperialist war. Private property was untouched and profits secured. All you and your bourgois professors want is to define capitalism out of its crimes including those of the class collaborationists Social Democrats and Stalinist leaders for whom capitalism is considered progressive. Capitalism developed in nation states and it is characterised in the Imperialist stage by the private ownership of big capital monopoly in production and banking capital with foreign investments and then super profits extracted with the help of imperialist military force. When capitalism enters a revolutionary crisis the owners then turn to fascist gangsters and a Fascist government of the gangsters. Marxist theories are all public so to say fascism is based in marxism is merely to say the fascists see their system as a way to achieve the goal of their bosses. One might just as well accuse American conservatism of being a branch of Marxism since James Burnham was an ex communists co founder. A fascist coup d eta is not the same as a though going social revolution which the coup d eta is meant to behead. Capitalist exploitation doesn't occur at the point of sale rather it occurs when the capitalist uses his power as an employer to enforce his profit maximization goals upon his production workers. The workers are paid the lowest wage and work the longest hours at the fastest pace to achieve the biggest profits. Only by banding together in trade unions can the workers fight back against this exploitation.

  464.  @slukky  Where does the US Empire gets its right to rule the earth. I seem to remember something called consent of the governed. You don't like it that the early Soviet Union had supported the rights of the colonial slaves to run their own affairs. Communism was not the issue as much as the national aspirations of the colonial people. Ruled by the Empires of world capitalism. The UK/US/France/Japan just to name the biggest. When a people choose a government the US doesn't like than the US engages in all kind of sabotage. Like this secret US State dept memo on Cuba. Memorandum From the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs (Mallory) to the Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs (Rubottom)1 Washington, April 6, 1960. SUBJECT The Decline and Fall of Castro Salient considerations respecting the life of the present Government of Cuba are: 1.The majority of Cubans support Castro (the lowest estimate I have seen is 50 percent). 2.There is no effective political opposition. 3.Fidel Castro and other members of the Cuban Government espouse or condone communist influence. 4.Communist influence is pervading the Government and the body politic at an amazingly fast rate. 5.Militant opposition to Castro from without Cuba would only serve his and the communist cause. 6.The only foreseeable means of alienating internal support is through disenchantment and disaffection based on economic dissatisfaction and hardship. The principal item in our economic quiver would be flexible authority in the sugar legislation. This needs to be sought urgently. All other avenues should likewise be explored. But first, a decision is [Page 886]necessary as to the line of our conduct. Would you wish to have such a proposal prepared for the Secretary?2 https://history.state.gov/historicaldocuments/frus1958-60v06/d499
