This has nothing to do with incompetence but the actions of the federal government of both Congress that wrote the law and the DEA Executive branch enforcing the law. It also raises the question of why the courts have not ruled this to be unconstitutional. Since it is clearly the taking of property without due process of law.

@virginiamoss7045 The practice of granting the right to a corporation came from England where the king granted the right to form corporation to those he found favor with. Most corporations are generally chartered by the states only a very very few are specifically chartered by the Federal Government. Since before the civil war the Bill of Rights did not apply to the states any corporation chartered by a state was never bound by the Bill of Rights. After the civil war the states were bound by the doctrine of incorporation to be limited by the Bill of Rights.

@andrewgarcia3136 The problem is the cops didn't violate the law or even misinterpret the law. They in fact operated under supervision of a DEA agent and federal law.

@vonkruel These cops are enabled by the highest level of government Congress which writes the laws that DEA uses.
