Obviously the workers were able to use the union to make themselves heard. Something that can't be done without a union.

@castlev1986 How effective a union is depends on a number of factors all related to the class struggle. The leaders are paid by the membership so at the end of the day the have to respond to what we the members want. if they refuse they can either be voted out of office or the workers can vote in a different union or no union at all. The union leaders all know that so that is why even the most craven pro company union leaders have to defend union militants. It's very difficult to fire us from a union job once our probation period has been completed.

@castlev1986 Of course you have no evidence of union money going to a so called mob. It's just a charge made up and advanced by by greedy company CEO's, the secret police FBI and capitalist politicians as a way to attack our unions.

@castlev1986 What I know is that the bosses hate us and do everything they can to keep us divided and fighting among each other and from what you say with all your unproven conspiracy theories you are either working for them or playing right into their greedy hands. I know the boss line when I hear it and it's always, "Give up the union you can't win and just because you live in a shack and I live in a multistory mansion doesn't mean we are any different." Take that line fishing and see who is stupid enough swallow it hook line and sinker. .

Its the only way to fight back against company greed.

@cocobrez Unions need to remain voluntary organizations. The capitalist government needs to stay out of union business.

We need to cut the workday and work week with no cyt in pay to have workers control of the job so injuries can be reduced not smart alack comments.

@castlev1986 That's why you do know WTF you talking about.

@castlev1986 Everyone know that cars get flat tires also doesn't make all tires flat. Mob :a large crowd of people, especially one that is disorderly and intent on causing trouble or violence. We call that mass protests and class struggle. The bosses, finks, scabs and the cops call us "The Mob."Its how the industrial unions were built. Like the 1934 Minneapolis Teamsters strikes and the Minneapolis Citywide General strike. The first amendment gives us the right to assemble and protest boss policy.

@castlev1986 Robots can't take over because you can't build a perpetual motion machine. What does happen is the capital value of the company rises and the ability to produce more with less labor goes up. Now initially your total profit rises but you sale price will once again slump towards the cost of production and your profit per item must also decline since labor time in production is the source of profit. So unless you have a bigger market for your production your total profit must go down and you only sell in markets where you can make a profit to begin with. So what this means is the RATE of profit in all industries must also decline and since the world market is finite capitalism, itself, if it had no other problems like the proper allocation of capital to production not speculation, must come to an end as profit rates go to zero. Unions are organizations of workers. Since we are the only class that becomes larger in the modern world our unions become all that more important.

@castlev1986 We don't need the capitalists. History shows that in every country the workers will fight back against capitalist austerity programs. On a world scale the number of wage workers has kept rising both numerically and by percentage despite increases in productivity. All the other classes like the small farmers, middle class and capitalists decline. Capital keeps combing and accumulating which can only result in a decline in profits rates. The capitalist produce for markets not to keep people clothed and feed. The capitalist can't run a factory by themselves either. They become totally parasitic collecting value based upon ownership only.. They are also divided into nation states competing in a world market. They become unable to arbitrate trade and market disputes between different capitalist classes this drives them towards Imperialist war. Their is only one solution to the crisis of capitalism that's world socialism and national self determination for the poor nations. Revolutionary Cuba points the way forward both setting an example in solidarity and the fist major defeat for US Imperialism in the Western Hemisphere just 90 miles from the most powerful Empire in world history.

@Jucuaram503 The bosses risk nothing but profits they made from our labor. We risk life and limb making things using our labor they risk a paper loss and paper cuts. A dime doesn't even contain silver anymore. Capital produces nothing without labor otherwise the laws of thermodynamics would be broken. We pay our leaders salaries out of dues and that's none of your business. They corrupt everything in the interest of bigger profits.

@castlev1986 That assumes the workers do nothing which isn't true. They will first take up the trade unions to fight against attempts to destroy our living standard in favor of the profit system. That can only lead towards workers control of industry and overthrow of the power of the capitalist class and its state power. That's how socialism will come about not by voting Democrat. Why because both parties are parties of the capitalists. You can't regulate greed out of the system only change the system.
