@Triumph2024. The truth must not just be the truth but it must also be told and Sowell lies when he say that South Vietnam was a seperate nation. It was nothing of the sort rather it was a regime that was generated by a peace conference in Geneva where the Imperialist powers sought to divide the country with the agreement of China and the Soviet Union after the French Imperialist were defeated decisively at Dien Bien Phu in 1954. Sowell also lies about the need for Truman to unleash nuclear weapons on an already defeated Japan. Sowell also lies about the fight to overturn Jim Crow because both of the capitalist parties were both responsible for jim crow and only acted after they were put in the position of being the origins of the practice before the whole world. Sowell himself despite being the same age as Malcolm X and Martin Luther King played absolutely NO role in that movement before his entrance into academia where he became a well know sidelines critic. @Triumph2024. Sowell is also know for being "smart" with circular logic. A equals A is one of Sowells favorite discoveries. Along with other truism like no solutions only trade offs which is deliberately meant to hide the fact that human society has been creating a surplus of production since the change from hunter gatherers to agriculture. It's necessary to keep this fact hidden to defend the opulence of the ruling class and the origins of wealth as being ordained by mystical forces like market intelligence and other.ideas invented to defend the capitalist mode of production as the end all and be all of human creativity.

@miguelgameiro8063 Sowell says the capitalist do not exploit the working class but he never actually explains where the profits come. Instead he beats around the bush with statements about how trade can be beneficial to both parties and big risks can result in big gains. As if trade and gambling produced something in itself. Him and Friedman play a game of pretend where the capitalism of 1776 that Adam Smith wrote about is the same as the capitalism of today. Thar the bosses just need to learn some of his theories are realize they must become the guardians of his new moral lessons. Don't engage in trade war despite you greed for profits and make sure the government is doing everything possible to help the bosses maximize shareholder value and profits with the law that they of course pay to have written for themselves.

US Defense of a Military dictatorship the US had established is what Sowell and you are defending with this fiction of an independent South Vietnam. They Geneva accords in 1954 required an election in the South which the US managed to quash since it knew Ho Chi Minn would win hands down. This was why they created this fiction of an independent South Vietnam with collaborators of the hated French and Japanese Imperialist rulers. When the collaborators didn't follow orders they were murdered for more reliable military brutes. .

@1texasminer I don't care where you wife was from their was never such a nation as South Vietnam or South Korea or two Germany's they were and are all creatures of the cold war. As was the so called "Republic of China." Taiwan was under Japanese Imperial Control and the defeated Army of General Chang evaluated China for that island. The US Navy sails through the Strait of Taiwan as a show of military force. Its indigenous people are neither Han Chinese or Japanese. For 22 years a fiction was created at the UN that Taiwan was really the government of China at US insistence.

@1texasminer South Vietnam had no special ideology either the people had different religions at most some being Catholic like the French and other Buddhist. The people who were content with he Dictatorship were obviously the Big Landowners who had supported Diem and would lose out in any real land reform.

@bartdoo5757 While ignoring the workings of capitalism that destroy the workers families by the ever worsening business cycle of boom and bust for the wage earner and the drive to make the biggest profits by paying the lowest wages and working us the longest hours such that they only need to pay on average for the workers to return for another pay period. A worker with a family is more expensive for the bosses than workers without a family. If older workers can be replaced with new immigrants what need do the bosses then have to pay for a new generation? This is a question that should be asked of Rail Bosses like Warren Buffett who runs the Better Not Start a Family railroad. He wants workers to show up whenever the bosses call under threat of dischage backed up by the Slave Labor Railway Labor Act that gives capitalist judges the power to decide if a strike is legal.

@bartdoo5757 Higher wage workers can't be replaced overning but in the long term higher paid skilled workers and their skills are the first to be replaced by new labor savings techniques. Bosses know what the cost of rent and groceries are for an average family in any area and the first thing to happen after the 2008 crisis was for the low wage retail bosses to take advantage of the new numbers of unemployed to get rid of those who were no longer quitting for better wages elsewhere to save on the promises of vacation and medical insurance for long term employees.

@bartdoo5757 You're the one babbling nonsense taught by the Professors defending the profit system who point to the less likely outcome as the most likely outcome. The bosses make their cold blooded decisions based upon the calculation of what yields the highest rate of profit. Once you realize that's what they do you'll understand why they make he decisions they do. They want you spending your wages because if you aren't that must mean your being overpaid which means you might decide to quit no come in on time or not take your job seriously.

@SacredCASHcow Yes the English have claimed their Culture and language superior while Norman Conquest actually brought French words of a Romantic language into a Germanic Grammar. The English would later impose their language on the Scotch, Welch and Irish. Blacks who were brought here as slaves were for the most part stripped of their culture from Africa.

@danielpye7738 His party the Republican along with the Democrats decided to liberate the dollar from the value of Gold and use inflation to rob the working class instead of wage cuts. This is the only solution that the Capitalist have other than war for restarting their profit system after they overproduce for markets that can't absorb all that can be produced and still keep up th rate of profit. When they can no longer make more profit from expanding production they invest in driving up the value of fictitious capital which can then only collapse. These are self defeating actions because when the workers can no longer buy back what they produce the bosses order layoffs to save on wage cost which now means the purchasing power of the workers goes down this is why they need to bail themselves out in these crisis and blame high wages as the problem. .

@julie.1081 Marx and Lenin both understood how the combination of competition, greed and economic crisis of the ever smaller Imperialist investor ruling class drives them not just to trade war but real war in the drive to maximize profits. Both the two world wars and the intervening era of fascism were the results of capitalism in decay. Only the traitorous actions of the Social Democrats and Stalinist leaders gave capitalism a new lease on life that it squandered with the crisis of 2008 which marked the end of the World War two era of capitalist victory if one can call the destruction of two world wars a victory which finally brought the era of fascism to an end with the Soviet Victory over NAZI Germany and the Democratic Imperialist Victory over the Japanese Military dictatorship. This is still the era of Socialist Revolution as the Cuban workers and Peasants still hold State Power despite capitalist encirclement and the military might of the American Imperialists. .
