The same group the arranged for the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem travel from France to Egypt where he was under arrest following the defeat of NAZI Germany. The Grand Mufti became head of the reactionary Arab league. The Grand Mufti was a Jew hater going back to the 1920's when he organised pogroms in the British Mandate. The British gave him amnesty so he went to Germany where he joined with Hitler to plan the final solution and raise a Muslim militia for Hiler.

@ybrueckner5589 What facts? Vietnam was a nation that wanted to free itself from Colonialism, first the French, than the Japanese and when the war ended the French tried to retake their colony. The French were forced out but a Geneva "peace conference" among the Imperialist powers decided to give half the country back to the Imperialist collaborators who were suppose to hold free elections with the agreement of the Soviet Union and China. The free elections were never held and the US became the new representative of the Imperialist collaborators government. When an election was finally held the Diem brothers became head of government and the police. They were not following orders from the US Ambassador so they were killed in a military coup engineered by Ambassador Lodge with Kennedy's approval. Things got worse for the military government so instead of just US advisors regular military were sent to fight a war of counterinsurgency by use of masacre, terror and assassination as the United States became the new force of occupation. Like in Korea and after the Cuban revolution some wanted to use nuclear weapons. That risked retaliation by China and the Soviet Union. Was the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki necessary? Japan was on the verge of surrender wanting to know what terms it could get and as an island militarily blockaded having its navy defeated. Nevertheless Truman decided to try out the new weapons and inform Stalin of the results.

First no one in the US suggested a proportional response to Japan. How to respond to Japan was never debated. War was declared the next day with only one pacifist Congress Women voting no. Second Japan was occupied by US Troops with the war's end, its constitution was written by the United States including the limits on the Japanese military strength and the US maintains military bases in Japan some 75 years later. The atomic bombing of Japan was unnecessary as they Japanese realised hey were defeated and were seeking peace terms since the island was blockaded by the US Navy which had defeated the Japanese Navy. Sowell is merely a defender of American Imperialist war policies no matter what the situation.

These statements by Sowell are full of lies. Vietnam was never two countries it was the Imperialist powers who created this fraudulent nation of South Vietnam just as they created two Koreas and two Chinas. There was never a need to Nuclear bomb Japan. Israel was created by Jews. The Imperialist played a contradictory role in that whole situation. The British were for the British not wanting Jewish refugees in Britain and wanting both Jewish and Arab support against Germany. The US didn't want more Jewish refugee immigration either. Where were the Jews supposed to go? Stalin began a veiled campaign against them with his anti cosmopolitan campaign and Doctors plot. His hatred for Trotsky (Bronstein) was no doubt also a reason. The disdain of the Stalinist Bureaucracy for non Russian nationalities was on full display post war not to even mention that Stalinist policy that allowed the NAZI's to cake walk into power while the largest communist party outside of the Soviet Union basicly stood by on Stalin's orders to wait for a mass uprising after the NAZI's took power that never came. The US was acting like the previous Imperialist powers that had occupied Vietnam. The US wrote the Japanese Constitution and stipulated it could only have a small defense force. The US has 800 foreign military bases from which to defend its business mans empire. He argues against things that no one ever proposed except himself and targets that are simple to attack like the pacifism of the clergy while not mentioning clergy that argued God is on our side. The atomic bombing of Japan was debated among top military brass and even then one opposed it. If Sowell was such a brilliant leader he be one instead of a professor throwing stones in a glass house for fifty years.

Nor was the US defending anyones freedom but instead dictatorships military and civilian it had installed. Nor was the Atomic bombing of a defeated Japan justified.

Nor were the US wars in Iraq or Afghanistan justified. Israel is fighting a war against the Hamas regime in Gaza which directly attacked ther civilians and is holding hostages. The majority of 9/11 bombers came from Saudi Arabia. No evidence ever surfaced of them being sent by either the Taliban or Saddam Hussein.

Hamas does nothing but steal UN Aid and rule with an Iron fist. Many talk about how their lives were better working in Israel then surviving under Hamas. The Arab medic who stayed to help bandage the wounded instead of evacuating who was killed by Hamas terrorist at the music festival is being hailed as a national hero.
