@stevem9766 If Stalin had not built nuclear weapons when he did the US would have used nuclear weapons on Chinese Cities. China has been growing at a spectacular rate creating a huge new working class and raising incomes. That doesn't mean they have no problems but neither is the US perfect. The beltway is concerned with profits only. No one should be fooled into fighting China over who gets to sell what in where. Taiwan (The Republic of China) is recognized by one country only which is not the US. The US won't recognize Taiwan because to do so would mean China would end its recognition of he US. If Taiwan has become a democracy its no thanks to the US because it became a refuge for General Chang's military dictatorship after he lost the civil war. For 20+ years the US refused to recognize the Peoples Republic of China instead recognizing The Republic of China (Taiwan) a small island that also held China's seat at the UN.

@stevem9766 Racism is a product of capitalism and Imperialism. They don't have many immigrants and never had imported slaves with plantations. Their problems are with non Han Chinese nationalities. I haven't heard anything about paying different wage rates based on nationality though and since they don't have a lot of immigrants they can't serve as a source of cheap exploited labor either. You can't be much of a racist if no other races are in your area or if you don't have more for a reason related to race. Han Chinese saying they are one race only becomes important in the context of national minorities.

@drstone1167 The reason for the suffering caused by the corona virus is the fact that healthcare is an overhead cost for capitalism. The Government of Biden is and Trump was just a bunch of bumbling fools. Trump and Congress were to busy with Impeachment and partisanship to do anything for 3 months.

@FieryJuniper Look not only would China have suffered under nuclear weapons but most likely a nuclear winter would have spread across the world. If Mao had not won the civil war Western Imperialism would still be bleeding China dry after all General Chang was in the US/UK pocket. The capitalist are only interested in profits not service quality. Once they monopolize an industry they let it go into decline to maximize profits (return on investment). What they compete for is maximum profits and monopoly prices are the answer to that problem. Calling yourself a Communist party like the CCP doesn't mean you following in the footsteps of Marx and Lenin. The CCP is more interested in Milton Freedman than Marxism.
