When the invasion came at Playa Giron Fidel said they had a good plan what they lacked was a just cause. What holds the Cuban people back is the US Blockade of the island not the Cuban government. Thousands marched in July carrying the 26th of July movements flag of the rebel army. M-26-7

@larryfoster8820 The Cuban revolution is just the prelude to the Socialist revolution in the United States itself. Solidarity freed the Five Cuban hero's from US Prisons and it will end the blockade. Once the Imperialists realize they can't kill the revolution by starvation and military force the will change course and try ad kill the revolution with kindness.

SantiagoDeTortillas The revolution was made with All American Arms taken from the Tyrant Batista. Fidel rode in to Havana on an American made Sherman Tank. It was only after the 1959 victory that Cuba obtained Soviet Arms since the United States had an arms embargo on the country once they realized Batista could not win. The invaders at Playa Giron were confronted with a combination of Soviet and American Armor.

@AlejandroMartinez-it4qq Not only would the Imperialist face the Cuban Army but the whole Cuban nation as Cuba has its territorial militia and the whole of Latin America would rally against such an unprovoked Imperialist assault. Thousands would die needlessly for Wall Street greed. Protests within the United States would be massive making Vietnam wars protests look like a Sunday afternoon picnic.
