  7. The important thing here is not that they won the most but that they were able to defeat the local ruling class who at first thought they would only need to offer a 1% raise to satisfy them. Instead they made a demand and backed it up with a strike and protest at the legislature. They refused to leave with just a promise and not a contract passed the legislature and signed by the governor. The did this despite threats to declare the strike illegal and divided them. They were ready for a long strike because they had organized to provide child care for those who depend on school as child care and to see to it that no one would be forced back to work by homelessness or starvation.

  11. Prices keep rising even with the changes made to make it look less than it actually is as does productivity in the private sector. Wages in average have stagnated since 1970. CEO pay has gone from about 40 times the minimum wage to 400 times the minimum wage. The idea that the US is a meritocracy or is on the way to being one is just BS propaganda to defend the ruling classes profits. I am glad they beat Governor Justice and the phoney's in the legislature. What they need to do is pass a Rockefeller tax.

  19. It's not a term or policy related just to Kissinger alone but the way the capitalists and their followers look at the old, the ill and the unemployed. They need some of the unemployed to hold down wages but that doesn't mean they need all of the unemployed. This is the same reason they need some immigrants but not all immigrants. This also explains their contradictory policies. On one hand they want immigrants to fill jobs at a lower wage who come here legally since they are can be more easily controlled by legality but on the other hand those who come illegally are less likely to complain and have fewer rights in the law making deportation easier and less costly. The most dangerous immigrants are not the gangsters its those who see through the hypocrisy of ruling class policy and decide they have nothing to lose by fighting back. They like paying workers a McDonald's wage but they still need the next generation of workers for their system of exploitation. So the question becomes should we finance the next generation through higher wages with two partner families or by paying women welfare benefits where their occupation is to raise the next generation alone.

Both France and Italy had mass Communist Parties because the partisan underground fighters were more than likely communists.   40. First you should not vote for either party. They are both full of corrupt lawyers and other middle class people. If you want to vote you should vote for the Socialist Workers Party candidates or be part of a new movement of labor that runs candidates and builds a labor party. Trying to reform a corrupt party is a useless task when you can think of what can be done with the same energy used to build a new party. It takes more than votes to change things it take a movement and anyone who tells you all that is needed is a few votes is leading you astray.

  49. The West Virginia school strike is sign that is being turned around. Plenty of workers are feed up with the politicians and this is an example of how organizing and properly preparing a strike can begun won despite it being illegal with no right to even bargain and a right to work state. Once it was clear that they would not back down they folded like a house of cards. It was a unanimous vote for a 5% raise when only a 1% was originally offered. Now some other states will face the exact same issue. Oklahoma is next. April 2nd is the deadline for the next strike.
