  10.  @ExPwner  We've always labored since men first walked the earth and used primitive tools. Money was only a latter invention of the Ancient people of Samaria. Even then Capitalism didn't exist until the end of the middle ages in Europe. People who lived in cultures without a written language most likely engaged in trade that was a form of barter and since they wouldn't have written things down and not yet have the mathematical ideas needed for counting. Money is good as a universal medium of exchange. The capitalist invests in both fixed and circulating capital. Fixed capital is the machinery, tools, land ect. Circulating capital is the wages part that comes back when the workers spend their wages and the capitalist collects his receipts for product sold. The English King George didn't want the American colonist to import money so they had to secretly mint Massachusetts Pine Tree Shillings with the dates of the English Commonwealth. It isn't capitalism without modern Industries, the use of wage labor and commodity production. Living on a farm and making handicrafts to trade is NOT capitalism. All of capitalist industry must be set in motion because they are all interdependent on each other despite being privately owned. What does Marx say in the Communist Manifesto as the goal of the communist? Abolish Private Property the property used to exploit others. Not abolish money or machines. Money itself has changed over time. It began as banks issuing receipts for silver or gold and that the continued right up to the great depression. Some bosses use to pay us in script that was only usefully for items bought at the company store. Union Construction workers demanded to be paid in cash because of bouncing company checks. Today money is no longer connected to the value of a commodity rather it is a fiat currency much of which consists of numbers circulating between banks, government and corporate accounts.

  18.  @jgalt308  The nature of man is that we are part of nature and we labor together as social animals to meet our needs with our hands and use our voice box to communicate with each other along with our bodies which are made to be natural marathon runners. After we have meet our needs to eat, have shelter, clothes and drink we create culture science, art and religion. We have also been creating a surplus which we leave to future generations along with culture. Money is just a medium of exchange invented by the ancient Sumerians. Its has taken many forms over time. Today lots of money is nothing but numbers in computers. The fact that think like Thatcher that socialism is about spending other people's money shows you have about zero understanding about how production takes place in the first place. Of course you wouldn't be alone because the modern bourgeois economist rejects John Locke and Adam Smith when it comes to labor being the source of value. Instead they think it is paradoxical that water sells for so little and a diamond so much but man would trade a diamond for water in the desert if his life depended on it. So they talk about abstractions like marginal value and play the scientist with graphs and mathematical calculations. This lead them to the credit default swap which was suppose to make them rich despite how the value of industrial stocks in the market moved. One of the grievances of the New England colonist was they were not allowed to import money because the King insisted it all be kept close to him in London. The King had been executed by the English Puritan revolution and the English Commonwealth declared. So this is when the Pine tree Shilling was minted in Massachusetts. The king sons was put back on the throne and all were amnestied except those 59 Commissioners of the House of Commons who signed the Death Warrant for the King. Ten were caught and executed, Cromwell had already died so his dead body was dug up and posthumously executed. The others went into exile in the Dutch Republic and Swiss Confederation along with the New England colonies. So before the revolutions to escape the Kings edict the Colonists of Massachusetts Bay minted pine tree shillings secretly with dates of the Englilsh Commonwealth. Of course why was the King executed he first took mechants money then promised to pay it back and went about the country destroying it for taxes. Now what do you think we should do to a ruling class that uses taxes to go around the world destroying it to make profits?
