@mra.4466 Bosses are only interested in profits. They want us working the longest hours at the lowest pay and the fastest rate in a pay period to make the biggest profits. They buy labor by the pay period and seek to pay only what it costs to get us to come back for the next pay period. Naturally it costs more if you have a family and want to have family time. But the Bosses don't care that's why they call the greedy Boss Warren Buffets railroad the BNSF the Better Not Start a Family Railroad.

@bitman_agent67 They always thinking about the rate of profit when making investment decisions. Many things can effect that rate but because the profit comes from the surplus value our labor produces if a company profit rate suffers the workers are always the first who are blamed. Since the stock market bosses set up all these companies in competition those who can pay the lowest wages and work us the longest hours without a union contact are seen as the most profitable. That is becauses when the buy our labor they only seek to pay what is socially necessary to get us to return to work for the next pay period. When they sell in a market they seek to get back all the costs plus a profit and the best rate of profit considering the money value of the capital invested. They want to hold up market prices of the product or service provided for that reason.

@ambassadorgonk4325 In US Federal Prisons inmate are required to work unless sick. Your job may be internal to the prison or you may work as contract labor for private enterprise. You are paid but you are not legally permitted to strike although strikes occur anyhow. The thirteenth amendment makes involuntary servitude illegal except as punishment for a crime. So with the end of reconstruction after the civil war the Southern States came up with increasing numbers of petty crimes like loitering and vagrancy which poor whites and blacks could be arrested and convicted of who would then be used as convict contract labor in chain gangs, coal mines and industry.

The cell towers all require a backhaul wired network. If anything the computer reduced the number of white collar and skilled jobs. All kinds of clerks, tabulators and draftsmen lobs were eliminated. If work at home was a more productive way of ding things we would still be living in feudal times on isolated farms and making handicrafts. @karlrovey A successful strike at anyone terminal quickly spreads as trains are prevented from moving into that terminal such that the end up blocking movement throughout the whole system of railroads. @GintaPPE1000 You take our jobs so you can sit back and be lazy profit takers. The rail roads issue layoffs and have closed hundreds of depots and decommission hundreds of miles of track. Any legal strike called by railroad or airline workers requires permission from a capitalist federal judge because any tie up of an airline or rail terminal quickly cascades across the whole system. Since 1973 all the increases in productivity have been going to the capitalist bosses as reported by the bosses own federal reeves bank.

Doesn't mean you can't do it without one but it much easier to take a car to work than ride a bicycle, walk or take public transit. How good the public transit is depends on the city. Some places its all but nonresistant.
