  1. In defense of anti-nuclear activists: 1. They were obviously correct about solar and alternative energy, which both could've and should've been rolled out faster 2. They were obviously correct to fear that corruption increases risks of acute catastrophe 3. They were obviously correct that we shouldn't NEED as much energy, over time, even with slowly increasing population - an already developed country should in fact have energy use DECLINE as we develop more efficiencies in various tech - but growth addiction was underestimated 4. They were obviously correct that nuclear power has often been linked to nuclear weapons (even today with fusion) They weren't idiots, folks, they were trying to make the world a better place. They overestimated society's readiness.

  3.  @tacticsogreman  ...Fukushima was corrupt as hell though. The people running it were decommissioned and fined billions for violations in the USA. and lo and behold, they FAKED safety reports in Japan. The whole narrative around Fukushima misses the corruption!
