Well, @michellesheaff3779 , I'm heading right now to a meeting with forest ecologists who argue that logging "to preserve and enhance long-term health of the forest" is greenwashing. There is tremendous damage being done on public land - unfortunately there are a lot of old myths in forestry that refuse to die - for example, that forests can be too old, or that 'young forest habitat' needs to be created (we have too much of that already, because most forests are regularly logged). We have these public hearings in the US but most people just listen to the foresters - and somehow, the answer is always more logging. Forest ecologists disagree. Our forests are being robbed and degraded and as always, there is a wealth of pro-extraction propaganda.

Too bad Obama didn't believe in anything and just talked a good game while throwing millions of black families out on the street for the benefit of his banking masters. Nevermind him pushing oil drilling and refusing to mandate solar panels on federal buildings (by executive order), even though he pretended to care about climate change. What a p.o.s.

@jamescaldwell6513 did you hear the autopsy said his hands were raised? that audio proves the gun they 'found' wasn't fired, that it was friendly fire? They executed an unarmed man. I talked to his friends, he opposed gun ownership.

The 'fuel building up' myth also needs to die. In fact, 'thinning' forests to prevent fire has been shown INCREASE fires! counterintuitive it may seem, but more trees = more water held which resists drought. Logging equipment has directly started many fires. And cutting and burning trees is a big carbon emitter, both directly and because of soil death and thinning after logging, releasing CO2. Wood burning is so inefficient it is arguably worse than coal or natural gas for both carbon and particulates.
