  1. Yea, all that secrecy is bulshit! It's very well understood and publicized technology! The real next big thing that's already existing is high resolution fast framerate thermal Imaging. In the US they are limited to a low framerate by law (stupid muricans 🤦‍♂️) but you can get 60fps 2m pixel with less then 50ms lag from China! Not kidding, China and some German companies make digital thermal Imagers that blow that flir crap right out the water! Budy of mine hase a unit for hunting, and there is no perceptible lag at all. Ant that's just a 5k€ unit! If you throw a couple grand more at this you shure can make those military tube goggles look like shitty old technology!
