@hha8356 Yea the stones they made buildings out of are left. But it would be interesting to see a wagon axle or a chain/rope made out of stone! 😂 It's so funny that archiologists think they made everything with stone and bronze just because that's the only things that are not turned to dust. If the middle ages where just a little darker, we wouldn't have any evidence that the romans had iron! In archiological terms it needs just the blink of an eye to lose a millenia.

@Leotv1948 The stone tools are the only things that really have a chance to survive time! And I think that the truth is more mixed than we believe. If the environment is really tough, like in a ice aged Europe, you tend to see this hunter gatherers like today the inuit, or beduins in the hot deserts. But if sometimes there is a warmer decade or centurie in those regions or in general, you see advanced cultures spread out into the unknown wilderness. Like in europ, the romans got all over the place, build incredible advanced buildings, roads and viaducts, and after the fall of the empire after over tousend years, all that stuff was lost even ther where people around all the time. I really think there is more to it than some nomads coming together and building this stuff for a happening and leaving again until next time! That's like building a Cathedral just to have a thanks giving party in it!

@Leotv1948 But think about the time spans, the romans are less then 2 tousend years away, and some of the left over structures where used further until today, they where never buried. Imagine what is left over of a culture after more then 10 thousand years. Imagine what is left of us if abandoned for a few tousend years and maby have some glacier role over it! Our steel and concrete stucktures are rotten to dust and even our plastic waste would be buried under sediments. The most likely thats left are landfills, but only if luckily not eroded away. Archiology is a very patchy subject, in the Trias and Jura are time spans where nothing bigger then a cat is found, in which the whole history of mankind fits in! Yea, nomads could have technically built those stucktures if given enough time and resources, but nomads are nomads because the environment in a confined space can't feed them for long enough, so they have to move at some point. Thinking they could gather enough resources, to come together to build such monuments with such a lifestyle is so absurd! Do you know of any modern nomads that do anything remotely like that?

@Leotv1948 Maby I should have done some explaining what I mean. Most cultures don't exists much more then a tousend year, maby the Egyptians 3-4k. Our modern culture is less then 200 years old. But in environmental harsh regions or times, more primitive living humans are around all the time. The chance for some artifacts to be preserved goas up dramatically if it's spread over wider areas and longer time spans. If everything is concentrated in one spot over a relatively short time, chances are high that those artifacts are eroded away or already found and destroyed by other humans. Especially in regions like Northern europ, Asia or in tropics you have alot of weather and vegetative erosion. My point is, alot of found artifacts are just a single data point in time. Of cause you can assume that if we just find simple tools that this is all thy head! But in our nearer history you can see that it's not always the case.

@Leotv1948 yep! And I am thrilled to find out what heape in human history regardless of outcome! In think it would be even more astonishing how more or less crude civilizations could build such structures! And I hope we find enough in the future about our past! But non the less, I think there is a little bit more to the story then we currently know! 😉👍

The Roman empire brought kulture to the relative primitive tribes in norther europ, and as that empire broke down everything fellt back into the middle ages, and just some glimpse of this mighty culture was left over in the Lokal people! I guess such things heapen more then the few times we know of. Also, the moder human is around for over 500k but just 10k years ago the first humans startet with agriculture, 3k the first serious kultures and now we have smartphones and fly to space? WTF! That's an exponential development! If they just figured out how to kultivate plants 10k years ago, we should just have invented the wheel by now, and the bronze age must lie 6k in the future! I think we generally underestimate how long our development is going on for! Hack, in the archeological records from the dinosaurs are blindspots that are bigger then the intire history of primates!
