Here in Germany we use continuous flow water heaters instead! 😐 They are way more efficient then boilers! The amount of energy lost over time is quite huge, even they hold ther energy relatively long. Think about it, if that thing holds say 10kWh and cools down over 3 days. You lose 3,3kWh a day! That's more I even use on hot water! If you use them all day like in big family or somthing, it doesn't matter, but if you are just a single, or a couple that's working over the day it's not worth it. As a heat battery in conjunction with solar, heat pumps, and/ wood furnaces that a hole other story! A friend hase a furnace he can burn log wood in and pallets. He hase two huge water tanks just for heating and a separate smaller one for hot water. In cold winter days he just has to burn wood for a few hours after work to heat up the tanks, and they heat the whole house over the next day. In milder weeks it even holds over several days up to a week.
