  2.  @matty6848  I spent time there. People in Whittier are just normal people, which means that they aren't this happy rainbow sunshine thing like the video is showing. It's a video for views, he is going to show the nicest, friendliest people, and people natural "put on a face" for the cameras. I'm not saying they are evil, I'm saying they are normal, which means they have all the same issues and shortcomings as everybody else. The difference with Whittier is that it has more unique circumstances than the vast majority of towns, and alcoholism is a HUGE problem in Whittier and Alaska in general. But go ahead and be hissy and live in your fantasy world based on a single video.

  4.  @vickimeyers2672  the residents themselves say they depend on tourism lmao I spent a winter there and that's what literally all of them told me. It's not the only thing, but it's a major source of their economic activity. If you are really from Alaska, you should definitely know why Whittier will never grow beyond 130 people.
