@1stGruhn the Roman Church did not err with the papacy. Authority was vested with a single individual from the beginning. You would see that if you didn't want to twist the Bible to mean what you want it to mean.

Well Muslims were the ones that started it by invading Roman or Roman successor state territory, so...

@mappingshaman5280 they literally haven't stopped fighting each other since. That includes the crusade era.

Anti popes.

"when civil authority is wielded to coerce personal belief, true tyranny is demonstrated." Double standard. Secular authorities constantly manipulate and coerce people into believing certain things.

@1stGruhn All societies use the state to enforce a certain minimum of beliefs, see secular or spiritual. All states must be tyrannical according to your view.

@1stGruhn So how do you explain Christ making Simon his "rock" and renaming him as such (Cephas/Peter)? What about the council in Jerusalem in Acts 15? Acts 15:7: "And when there had been much disputing, Peter, rising up, said to them: Men, brethren, you know that in former days God made choice among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe."

@1stGruhn love how anything but the Roman Church is always right in the view of heretics. Latin was used despite the growth of the vernaculars because they was still the official language for centuries after the rise after of the barbarian kingdoms. People still understood Latin. Spanish, Italian, French, etc didn't just pop into evidence over night. Using a single language for the formal dissemination of the faith makes sense in an era of high language variability and change, but Latin was still the basis of communication in the West, same way Greek was in the East despite their eventual linguistic diversity. But I guess it's only bad when the Latin Church does it.

@1stGruhn he's clearly referring to Peter. He literally calls him a rock, and says upon it the Church will be built. You prots are always so keen on Scripture yet ignore the plainest things. James having the "last word" has no bearing on relative authority. Peter was obviously in agreement else he would have said something. And just because Peter is the head doesn't make the other apostles incapable of making judgements. Having a leader doesn't mean not being able to draw conclusions. also the elders are clergy of all classes.

The Vatican is ruled by non Catholics. Three post Vatican II claimants are anti popes. Sede vacante.
1
The vast majority of people that have ever lived and ever will live are completely irrelevant and even worthless.
1
You would like an anti Catholic propaganda video, wouldn't you?

@mappingshaman5280 Muslims began fighting *each other almost immediately after Mohammed died...

@HowHistoryWorks what a surprise.

He may not be whoring around but he's worse, because he's leading millions of people into heresy or to abandon religion all together.
