  3. Because nukes destroying the world is a meme, and they are the ones that helped perpetuate that myth. Even if every nuked got launched/detonated, it wouldn't "destroy the world." Nukes are just bombs with some radiation, and radiation isn't as devastating as we are propagandized to believe. There are way more conventional bombs than nuclear ones. By this same logic, why didn't all the bombs blown up in WWII trigger global earthquakes or something? There have been waaaaay more conventional bombs blown up than nuclear bombs and did they "destroy the world?" No, of course not. The only difference with nukes is the radiation, but radiation fades away pretty quickly in most cases. This idea you have of nukes being able to destroy the world is simply part of this fantasy that people have about the level of human power. Kind of like climate change. We like to think we are the ones making it all happen, but the reality is, most of the energy warming the planet, about 90%, ultimately comes from the sun, the remainder is maybe due to our influence. It's no different than rain dances of primitive tribes from hundreds of years ago. People overestimate the power and influence of humanity. The Earth is a lot bigger than us or our civilization. Even with 8 billion people on Earth, look at how much uninhabited land there still is, and I'm not talking about just deserts or tundra.

  4. He doesn't say dialectics originated with Marx. And religion isn't just about the afterlife. Religion at it's most broad is a "theory of existence" which includes both worldly life and an afterlife (though sometimes not).
