  1. They gotta spin the nuclear weapons research as "green" for good PR. If they were obvious about it, people would freak out (and probably rightly so). Not sure why the the US military feels it necessary to try to make even worse bombs. It's like, when do you think it'll be enough? If they develop a weapon that can sink a continent underwater or rip a hole in reality, they still wouldn't be satisfied.

  3. I highly doubt the Russia doesn't have viable nuclear weapons. Maybe not a lot, sure, but hard to believe absolutely 0 are serviceable.
