@darryll5711 As an Australian our housing market has been kept artificially high through immigration. We have been at or below replacement birthrates for over 60 years. Without immigration we would have enough affordable housing without building any more houses. Perhaps some renovations here or there or the occasional demolition and construction. But seriously without immigration everyone would be able to afford to rent or buy a house.

@ngjimmy Absolute nonsense. We manufactured absolutely everything we needed with a tarrif on imports, throughout the 50s 60s 70s 80s and early 90s. And then the Keating government deliberately offshored all manufacturing. Today we don't even produce paper.

Unfortunately we currently have a far left government that seems to support Palestine, and is beholden to China. A third of the farmland in my state is owned by China. Our current government has refused to help the US and the UK police the Red Sea. As an Australian I'm ashamed. But the current Prime Minister has Palestinian votes to protect as they continue to import poorly vetted Palestinian voters. The last census shows that half of the people voting are recent immigrants. Actual Australians have no democratic rights anymore.
