  1. ​ @jameswhyte5094 It has been politicians paying too much attention to economics that got us here. Stopping immigration would bring economic and social change as well. I for one would accept a lower standard of living in order to end immigration. A few changes I can see is a reduction in welfare spending, increased costs for health care, and women would need to increase birthrates to a minimum average of 2.2. But without competing with foreigners, and with more women out of the workforce raising children, wages would rise. And within a few years our standard of living might be much higher.
