  5. Maybe if they had gone to Switzerland instead of Holland. Anne Frank’s grandmother was wealthy and lived in Basel, Switzerland, with her daughter (Frank’s aunt, Helene Elias).

  11. In June 1939, the world refused to take in desperate Jewish refugees from the ship called the St. Louis, fleeing Nazi Germany. Now the Jewish people have Israel. 🙏

  13. J-wish mothers and children were clubbed and bludgeoned to death by pogroms in Ukraine. Most Ukrainian, Lithuanian and Polish civilians were participants during the Pogroms in WW2. The Ukrainians saw the Germans as liberators when they invaded in WW2.

  14. William L. Shirer, author of the book “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich” is particularly critical of the French——(Everyone should read it.) He says that in the first weeks of September 1939, when France declared war on Germany, all that the French army did against Germany was to occupy a few villages just across the border. Even though the French had signed a treaty with Poland, that obligated them to launch a full-scale assault if Germany attacked the Poland. Shirer says that the French outnumbered the Germans massively on the Western Front. Because most of the German army was fighting in Poland. The French had 100 divisions facing barely 5 German divisions.
