Foreigners love to pull that, "why don't you travel" ....uhm have you the seen the state of the world in certain areas? Why tf would i get on a plane and go somewhere else? There's almost everything in the U.S. you can find elsewhere. The U.S. is a huge melting pot of diversity. I've been in a 3rd world war torn country...I'm good on traveling outside the U.S. Traveling is also expensive, not everyone in the U.S. can afford overseas travel. How about stop generalizing every "American".
