  2. Why? Because they kill faster and more efficiently than lions and other cats? They don't have the ability to choke animals out. So it's just more efficient to shred. Once they actually get ahold of something we are Talking minutes until they die. Whereas lions and leopards can take up to 30 minutes to choke something to death, It's not as fast as people think. Hyenas and the wild dogs both kill faster and more efficiently than cats.
