  1. Russia needs Syria for its minerals they are extracting for the protection they provide. Most Russians in Syria are private contractors with Gazprom.

  4. Hmmmm...didn't even know Ukraine had guys in Syria. I understand why,but i feel they'd be doing more good in Ukraine/cross border into Russia. But there must also be a reason to be in Syria. I know assad gave up a bunch of minerals to russia for their help and all of those mines are protected by Russians. Gazprom. The guy who owns that does earth minerals too and he's getting a bunch of minerals out of Syrian mines. That was the deal. Nothing comes for free,especially from Russia.
