  10. VHS winning over Beta has been one of the most useful things that have happened in technology... It's given us the great example to use in conversations about all kinds of subjects... you can just say "yeah VHS won over Beta" and it saves so much complex explanation... a'right, you'll occasionally find someone who then wants to argue for hours and hours and hours over how VHS was actually better than Beta (I know, I've met him) but he and his ilk aren't actually that common.

In the rest of the world, we look at America and see "everybody has a gun and everybody is shooting at everything and everybody" and we say "ha ha ha... look at those Americans with their bible-belt and their funny presidents" like an ignorant kid might laugh at a disabled person.
