  1. For many years I didn't believe it even existed... it came as a bit of a shock when I found out it was real.... because, at the time, the only people I heard mention it were conspiracy nuts not science geeks. And my instant thought on hearing a conspiracy theory is to assume 100% fantasy.

  6.  @nillchen  if you've got a slowly modulated device in the signal path (I've done it with e.g. cheap guitar stomp boxes) you can achieve this effect without needing to move the mic.

  11. I turned it off in my mobile phone options long before the UK government test. The intersection of things I care about and things the UK government care about approaches zero as a limit. ;) "Death Tower" made me genuinely laugh out loud... Would love to see more footage of those radio masts that look like trees or are trees or have trees growing in them or next to them - whatever it was.

  17. I think it's funny that they had their "crime prevention officers" to come round our houses and point out our appallingly bad home security. Yet, at the same time, they were desperately in need of a visit from the equivalent of a CPO regarding electronic/communications security.
