As not much of a Debian user... all 3 of those went straight over my head.

I'm a bit sad because all my phones are Samsung and they seem to just not support alternative OSs at all. :( ... Yes, I had to throw away my 3-inch thick lead case because it blocked the 5G death rays. ;) ... I have a huge problem with "welcome wizards": I tend to say "yeah, yeah, yeah, skip all this crap... I don't care!" and then, later, yell "How do you actually use this damn thing!" ;)

The cyber-security carve-out smells rather strongly to me... "security by obscurity" and all that.

For at least 10 years or so, I've wanted to try Arch... but am basically a "sysadmin coward"... the idea of always being on the leading edge has always seemed attractive... but you hear the horror stories of "you're so close to the bleeding edge, it can sometimes crash for no good reason and then you've got to fix it yourself" (which may or may not have a grain of truth about them, who knows?)... But I've recently put Manjaro on most of my machines and, so far, it seems to genuinely be the best of both worlds... that (almost) leading edge experience of Arch but with a slight delay to ensure stability and allay my "but what if it crashes" fears.

C64 RF Out... Is it broadcasting? ... or is it "narrow-casting"????? :)

I still love Cobol bigtime.... but I've not touched it for about 35 years... which may explain my fondness.

Light/Dark themes gets funny 'cus if you're old, you like light mode but if you're VERY old, dark mode reminds you when nobody but Xerox had a GUI. ;)

Offline music... no ads... no subscription.... ugh! How outdated! ;) It's a tough call on the SSD...one of the things that made me "wow" the I-Pod was it's tiny-tiny HDD... but I suppose it comes down to usefulness vs "retro cool".

Hmmmm... that looks great! I'm old and very jaded as far as software goes... but that actually made me sit up and say "coooool".

No Jet Direct box for me and my old Epson, I've got a lead with a USB on the computer end and a Centronics on the other end... with a little bit of electronics to "do the stuff" hiding out inside the Centronics plug.

BSD isn't Unix-like... BSD is Unix! :)

For servers, I have a "fantasy distro" which is as close as it's SENSIBLE to get to "just the kernel and Docker... nothing else".

I prefer AppImage to FlatPack for no good reason at all... I wonder if my new favourite Linux related YouTube channel has an episode on the pros and cons of FlatPack so I can work out if I'm "right" or "wrong" to prefer AppImage?

Nice! One of my biggest regrets is that I didn't rescue a couple'a WY-50s from the skip (dumpster) back in the late 80s.

As a programming language, I hated Perl. But at the same time, I really really enjoyed Larry Wall's book on the subject.... ugh! I made a shopping cart application in Perl with no SQL.

Running Windows on a dual-boot Chromebook is just so many different kinds of wrong all at the same time. ;)
