  5. That high-speed footage of the booster going back to the high bay was ace! I don't think I've ever seen a rocket do the full journey from assembly building to pad or vice-versa before.

  25. I've heard "mixed reviews" on this. Using a full stop instead of a comma is a real error that can happen with Fortran IV compilers. But I've had reports that this story is apocryphal. I'd love to get a definite guaranteed "true" or "false" on this story.

  29. I'm sure I've read this story before but it's still Ace! I'm not into any of that nationalistic-cloak-and-dagger codswallop that you'd need to be in the CIA... but this would be a brilliant bit of "hacking" to get to do... both to see some Soviet space hardware up-close when most nerds didn't get to see it at all, not even from far off... And the need to take it to bits really really fast and put it back together again would be a challenge that any 21st century hardware hacker would consider to be some kind of sporting event.... I wonder if the CIA support the metrication of America... 'cus then it'd be easier to get the spanners to take other people's stuff to bits.

Considering Soyuz is now THE most reliable spacecraft (period) there were a lot of close shaves and mishaps in it's early days.... considering it was such a "devil machine" it's come a long way to being "the best of the best of the best (with honours)". (s'cuse the Vladimir Komarov and Will Smith quotes) 3:10 It looks like the Cosmonaut getting suited up accidentally punches his helper in the face! :D I thought jettisoning the orbital module before re-entry was a later development.... I haven't got my huge pile of space literature anymore,s o I can't double check.... Could someone else check for me?
