Because it's straight billing, and then you can set up payment arrangements and pay So much a month, what happened to you was you probably got the cash amount and you probably hadn't met your deductible yet, that's the only reason why they would only pay $200 towards that surgery is if you're deductible was almost the amount of the surgery so probably $12000, if they charge you 50% so $12000 while your deductible was probably $12000, so that's why they only paid $200 because you're responsible for your deductible. Like every time you go to the doctors you're supposed to pay until you meet you're deductible, so I don't know what you're tripping on, but if you aren't going to the doctors and every year you have a deductible that you have to meet before your insurance. Even kicks in, I mean, I get that you think it works that way and oh, you're getting cheated, but that's not how it works
