This was excellent. Militant optimism is a phrase that always gets tossed around but it works. Gotta remember, every bit of progress we make is lives saved, and those lives are worth it. That’s what keeps me going in conservation work

@t2k777 I get bouts of doomerism, cause I felt it after the ipcc report. However this “you naive fool, everything is over and nothing will change” is a total privileged outlook. We can still save millions of lives, human/plant/animal as well as help those who have been and are currently suffering from things they’re not responsible for. That’s enough for me and I work in the climate field. So don’t call me naive. Your outlook isn’t productive at all, just contributes to the harm.
