Seeing lefties toss up their convictions towards “cancel culture” being allies, demanding better and more sensitive jokes, protecting minority and oppressed groups etc, just because it’s a comedian they like- is extremely frustrating.

@chase_saddy idk what chapo house is because I’m not a perennially online lefty. I just thinks it’s idiotic this webs of ideas/values/theories that even lefties will spin in order to justify their own likes and support, while condemning others for theres. Chapelle was wrong and transphobic or at least perpetuated punching down on a group that already deals with a lot. That’s wrong.

@chase_saddy perennially online lefty meaning I don’t know all of them. I stumbled on most of my subscriptions. Also raises another point, Chapelle’s commentary that white gay people are a minority until they don’t need to be(paraphrased that) was a solid and fair comment and assessment, notice how no one is really complaining about that one? That’s why I think all this discourse is pretty absurd and boils more down to “I’m comfortable and familiar with this comedian and I generally like him, therefore I will bend my convictions in his defense” and getting overly analytical in a way to defend it. I think that’s wrong. Bad is bad, no matter who it comes from.
