@why-even-try-brotendo it’s not, I’m not saying Dave should lose his career(I personally don’t like his new stuff just in general) but he does deserve this criticism and backlash. We gotta hold people to the same standards we claim to when it’s someone we don’t really like to when it’s someone we do like.

All these “watch it in its entirety!” Kinda missing the whole point that, if 95% of the show hints towards him being bigoted towards trans people(calling himself a terf, and consistently misgendering his dear departed transgender friend he so understood and respected lol) aside, THEN THE HARM IS DONE. And I’m sorry but he says they deserve equality and yet puts them in and questions thinfs about their existence in the public eye and you think that’s not harmful? @choronos In addition to all the good points you’ve made I’d like to add one more, there have been plenty of lesser known comedians that have made funny and unproblematic jokes about transgender people etc, it’s not difficult if you aren’t an ignorant non empathetic dillweed(I think one I saw involved trans men getting to have man characteristics AND nice feet). “Gender is fact” and “I’m a terf” and misgendering a trans woman that he stated to respect, are not “jokes” they’re just bad commentary that only serves to harm or cause distress or ignorant comments towards the transgender community, that’s it.
