  7.  @JStack  Literally not what I’m implying. What I’m stating is that she’s historically insignificant outside of capitalistic categories. As far as capitalism and consumerism goes, she’s doing fantastic, kudos to her success. But she’s no hero, no warrior for good, no activist, her mark left so far is purely financial based. She’s barely even culturally significant since her whole thing is basic rich white lady that just finds herself into whatever new trend is relevant(so she can use it for marketing) hence her whole set of different “Eras”. Which, fair play, brilliant PR and marketing. But let’s not act like she’s anything more than that. The worshipping is absolutely insane.

Something that isn’t mentioned a lot is the defenders of Chapelle say “you didn’t watch the whole special, why can’t lgbtq+ people be made fun of?” Firstly, it’s constant punching down and not really funny? Secondly, no one is complaining about his comment that “white gays are a minority until they don’t want/need to be”(paraphrased). And you know why? Because that’s a valid point that can be discussed. People aren’t unreasonable in their critiques of Chapelle, people are unreasonable and blindly defending Chapelle because of your attachment to him.
