  1. Not to mention FCS and System W, which were mainframe programs that implemented the idea of a spreadsheet but without showing the spreadsheet on screen like VisiCalc did. VisiCalc was a visual version of programs that came before it. Dan’s innovation was not the spreadsheet. It was the idea is showing the spreadsheet on the screen!
