@unwantedvoid1678 I agree that if the Ukrainians had implemented genocidal policies in Ukraine, then Russian (and every other nation) should challenge the Ukrainians on this. But its not clear whether Ukraine did implement genocidal policies, or just implemented policies that were unfair. Russia and Ukraine tried to arrange for peace in Donbas via the Minsk Agreement, but neither Russia nor Ukraine were able to make this agreement work. Rather than invading, Russia should have tried other routes to find an agreement that would provide some external oversight of the policies that Ukraine implemented in Donbas to ensure that they were fair to all Ukrainians. I fear Russia will pay a heavy price for its failure to find a peaceful way to bring fairness to all Ukrainians.

@jbertucci So can Russian subs. The truth is that you cannot hope to destroy all the subs before they launch their missiles. So any nuclear war ends in the destruction of both sides. The only way to win is not to fight.
