  3. The thing is that Covid-19 is not a flu virus; it is much worse and all the experience shows this to be the case. Wanting it to be a trivial bug does not make it a trivial bug. The recovery rate is no 99.x% it is actually 96.7% which means that 3.7% (or 2.4 million people in the UK) will die from it if it is allowed to run unchecked through the population. Let's NOT go for no restrictions!

That's not going to happen because when the truth comes out, Sage's advice will be shown to be correct and optimal, it was just the Conservative government who gave into whining about the economy that messed up the recovery by not clamping down harder in May and June to eradicate the virus from the UK. New Zealand did it, the State of Victoria did it. It can be done if there is political willpower, but this Conservative government is too much of a friend to business, and did not look out for its citizens safety enough.

  6. Tier 3 lockdown is not really enough to slow the virus transmission - it didn't work when it was implemented because the virus transmission rates were already too high. Even "Tier 3" won't work until the transmission rate has fallen some more. Please don't fall into the trap of thinking that "Tier 3" is a high level of lockdown. It's a Conservative lockdown which means that all the activities that are interests of the Conservative party are allowed to operate.
