  1. The police get to decide. In the situation you describe the police would attend, if they had the resources to do so, and probably suggest that you stop shooting your air pistol in your garden even though this is your right. If you become beligerent and shoot your mouth off about your rights, they are likely to do something that you will regret. However, if you agree that you will stop, and then go around to your neighbours and invite them to review the safety precautions you have in place, and offer them a go with your air pistol, and you can convince them that it is safe, you can carry on shooting and no-one will be any the wiser.
