  1. I am sure that every volunteer has appreciated the life-threatening nature of a real war. Their friends and loved ones will be hoping they are lucky and return unharmed. Not all will be so lucky.

  2. That or having communications to the Ukraine military command, who are certainly receiving satellite imagery from the USA and other nations.

  3. The whole process for integrating fighters who don't speak your language into your army at very short notice is a very interesting problem. It would seem sensible to collect small groups of volunteers who all speak one language, and team them up with a couple of Ukranians, perhaps an NCO and one infantry fighter, and then given them some training, both in Ukranian and in Ukraine's tactics/signals etc. I'm not sure having non-native speakers on the front-line is a good idea though. There seems to be just too much risk of mis-communication. Perhaps the foreign volunteers should be limited to guarding prisoners of war, to release able-bodied Ukranians to fight on the front line.
