  4. Not just the north. The coastal mountains in bc are incredibly rugged and remote. You go into the mountains on the north shore of Vancouver. Cell service is gone after a few km. The next dirt road to the north is 100 km away. European hikers get a surprise, when there isn’t a restaurant on top of the mountain. I have seen nine bears this year, and I’m not out that much.

  8. It’s so hard to watch. My life long friend, has pushed everyone away from him. Has become angry, and always on guard for insults. He is uncle to my kids. He has shut them out too. I’ve seen old people get paranoid and shut in. But when he is your spirit brother… What to do?

  10.  @gabriellafox7948  Hi Gabriella. My life is mostly good, for its own reasons. As much as I worry about my friend. The rest of my time is mostly up to me. How I interpret, and deal with it. It sounds like your family, is not a source of positive energy. Have you tried to join any activity-interest groups? Where you get outside for hikes, or? A change of “normal”, to get out of a funk? Taking a course, just to switch focus? Getting out of a dark mindset, takes courage. I hope you can. We are all close to the edge.

  11. My thought too, that an impact like that. Would crush her skull, and break her neck. But, you can have thick ice. That is layers of solid, and rotten mush ice. It must have been sketchy ice, for her body, to go through too.

  12.  @mustertherohirrim7315 thank you for caring. I’m in Canada. When my parents were in end of life care. After the dementia etc made home care dangerous. I’m so ever grateful, for the good hearted people, who cared for them.

  16. Even without the sewage, people in the water, is very dangerous. I used to take a neighbour’s kid swimming. He didn’t have many good adults in his life. We went to a small lake, and swam out to the middle. He panicked, and kept climbing on top of me. Many years later, i’m glad to be here. He found his way, to crowbar hotel.

  28. An old hungry cougar, may be a risk. But you really ought to spend the night, in the BC coastal mountains. By yourself, pitch black out, hours from cell service, or a road. You hear a bear sniffing around, outside your tent. Cold sweat.
