  1. Not just the north. The coastal mountains in bc are incredibly rugged and remote. You go into the mountains on the north shore of Vancouver. Cell service is gone after a few km. The next dirt road to the north is 100 km away. European hikers get a surprise, when there isn’t a restaurant on top of the mountain. I have seen nine bears this year, and I’m not out that much.
