  2. The projection, of how Canada treated the native people in the past, is so outdated. Today native bands, get huge amounts of government money, for special projects, self governance. They often don’t pay taxes. Can develop land, ignoring municipal bylaws. It was bad, yes. We are forever making amends. If you mention what is going on in Tibet, Inner Mongolia, or Xinjiang. Or to religious groups. The finger pointing comes out. We are way past that.
