Its highly likely that other lifeforms use a much faster way of travelling, probably billions of times faster than the speed of light, therefore if they viewed us from billions of miles away they would see exactly what we do right now. our sight range and known spectrums of light could very well be extremely primitive in comparison. in a nutshell there are things up there in space we will never see.
