UK televisions never had a tint control because they didnt need one. yup PAL is far superior. the 29 vs 25fps thing is irrelevant, films today are 99% 23.9fps anyway. so on a tv that locks to 24fps you have a real smooth video output. Also the quality of european sets verses the americas is night and day, european crts have a much clearer brighter image with much better colour.
